OUR MISSION

ON THE VERGE is an empowerment and mentorship movement committed to transforming the lives of young men by equipping them with the tools, support, and guidance they need to rise, thrive, and lead.

OUR MISSION IS TO:

  • Empower young men each year through structured programs rooted in service and consistent guidance.

  • Build self-worth, confidence, and motivation through education, social-emotional learning, and positive reinforcement.

  • Reduce anti-social behavior by building healthy attitudes, strong values, and better decision-making.

FAQ

Your Questions Answered: Quick Insights Into Our Mental Health Services.

What services do we offer?

We offer individual counseling for boys ages 12–17 and adults, as well as premarital and marital counseling.

Our services support emotional wellness, relationship healing, life transitions, trauma recovery, communication skills, and personal growth in a safe, confidential space.

How long is each counseling session?

Each session is 50–60 minutes. This allows enough time to explore concerns, develop insight, and work toward meaningful progress without feeling rushed.

Who do you work with?

We work with:

• Adolescent boys (ages 12–17)

• Adults (18+)

• Couples seeking premarital counseling

• Married couples seeking support, restoration, or improved communication

Do you offer faith-based counseling?

If desired, faith can be integrated into sessions. This is always client-led and never imposed. We honor each client’s values and beliefs.

How long does each therapy session last

Many of our services are covered by insurance, but coverage can vary. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm what services are covered under your plan. Additionally, we offer a sliding fee scale to help make our services more affordable.

How do I know if I may need therapy?

You may benefit from therapy if you:

• Feel emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck

• Struggle with relationships, communication, or trust

• Notice repeated patterns you can’t seem to break

• Feel disconnected from yourself or others

• Are navigating trauma, grief, or major life changes

• Want support before or during marriage

You don’t have to be in crisis to seek counseling. Many people come simply to gain clarity, healing, and tools for healthier living.

What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session is about connection and understanding, not pressure or judgment.

We will:

• Discuss what brought you to counseling

• Review your goals and concerns

• Explore relevant personal or relational history

• Answer any questions you have about the process

This session helps create a safe foundation and determine the best path forward together. You set the pace.

Is counseling confidential?

Yes. All sessions are confidential, with exceptions only as required by law (such as concerns for safety). Your privacy and trust are a top priority.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. Contact us through the website to schedule a consultation or first session. We’re here to walk with you toward healing and growth.
